Alaa Abdou is a distinguished music educator, professionalsinger, and choirmaster with a deep foundation in both Arabic and Westernmusic. She graduated with an Excellent with Honors degree in musictheories, composition, and orchestral conducting from the prestigious HighInstitute for Arabic Music. Her diverse expertise makes her a dynamic andmulti-talented figure in the world of music education and performance.Following her graduation, Alaa served as a lecturer inWestern music and theory at the High Institute for Arabic Music from September2013 to May 2014. Her academic involvement highlighted her ability to bridgethe worlds of Arabic musical tradition and Western theoretical principles,enriching her students' musical understanding. During the same period, from2010 to 2014, she was an active member of the Cairo Opera Choir, where sheperformed in numerous classical productions and further honed her vocal artistry.Since November 2014, Alaa has been making a significantimpact in the Kingdom of Bahrain as a dedicated music educator with theMinistry of Education. She also holds the prestigious position of Choirmasterat the Bahrain Student Orchestra, where she trains and directs young vocalists,preparing them for performances that celebrate both national heritage andmusical excellence.In addition to her teaching and conducting roles, Alaa is askilled curriculum developer. Between February and June 2022, she worked incurriculum management as a curriculum rewriter—helping shape the future ofmusic education with updated and engaging content.Alaa Abdou is also a celebrated performer. She is aprofessional Arabic and pop singer, as well as an operatic soloist with a voicethat seamlessly transitions between genres.
